Nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Emerald Lake Lodge is one of the most beautiful venues I have ever worked at. It feels like the epitome of romance - featuring cosy log cabin rooms with wood-burning fireplaces, a beautiful lodge, a car-free experience (my favourite part!) and of course, the most incredible views of Emerald Lake and the surrounding mountains everywhere you look. If you’re looking for a venue that feels like a fairytale, having an Emerald Lake Lodge wedding won’t disappoint. In case you need some convincing, let me list the reasons why I love Emerald Lake Lodge as an intimate wedding venue!

Emerald Lake, with its vivid turquoise waters surrounded by towering mountains and lush forests, is one of my favourite lakes in Canada. If you’ve ever been to Canada, and Alberta in particular, you know that this is a pretty major statement! The colour of Emerald Lake will take your breath away no matter how many times you’ve seen it. It changes with the days and the conditions of the world around it. There is something magical about wandering to the water’s edge and not knowing just what shade of blue or green you’ll find today. The lake's reflection dances on the surface, creating an ever-changing canvas that evolves with the day's light, adding a touch of ethereal beauty to your ceremony and your wedding day.

2: the seclusion

An Emerald Lake Lodge wedding offers more than a venue; it offers an escape into a realm of serenity and seclusion. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, this secluded haven provides an intimate setting for you and your beloved to exchange vows. While the lake can get quite busy on a warm summer or fall day, staying at the lodge offers you a chance to experience quieter moments. You can get up for sunrise or hang around for sunset and watch the crowds slowly disappear. There is a hiking trail that follows the entire lakeshore which you will have plenty of time to explore since everything else is taken care of. I also highly recommend taking some time at night to enjoy the reflection of the stars and the moon in the lake. Okay, that was kind of cheesy - but what I want to say is that there are so many stunning views around the lodge itself - you don’t have to leave to get amazing wedding photos! But if you do decide to venture off property to explore the nearby areas there are some amazing spots within a 30 minute drive away! The Natural Bridge, Takakawaw Falls and the cute AF town of Field all come to mind! Hit up your favourite local wedding photographer (that’s me!) for recommendations!
