Karla & Rodney - Fernie Wedding Photographer
Karla & Rodney were married on a cold but beautiful winter day in a picturesque wedding in the sweet little mountain town of Fernie, BC. Surrounded by only their closest friends and family, their intimate wedding was an honest celebration of their love; their love for the mountains, their love for the people they hold dear, and most of all their love for each other. Karla was an effortlessly beautiful bride and rocked a leather jacket and a simple but elegant dress by Pronovias from the Bridal Boutique Calgary. Rodney looked like he belonged in Esquire magazine and I would have never guessed he is a farmer from Saskatchewan, until he flipped Karla over his arm (multiple times) during their first dance. Their ceremony took place at the Christ Church, Anglican church near downtown Fernie. It’s been a while since I’ve photographed a wedding at a church but the pastor was amazing and rocked bare feet even though it was the middle of winter. The light pouring through the stained glass gave a very romantic and emotional feel to the ceremony. Afterwards we took some quick family photos and then headed out to walk the Fernie trails for bridal party portraits. Karla’s flowers were done by Green Petal Florals and the colourful bouquet really popped against the white of the snow. The reception was taken care of by Loaf who provided amazing food and were perfect hosts. Throw in a couple of amazing speeches, a few outrageous kissing demos by guests (which the wedding couple then had to replicate), a hilarious poem from the groom himself, and an epic first dance and you have the recipe for an amazing Fernie winter wedding reception. All the best to this amazing couple and their friends!
